It’s not like that in all hetero relationships. My Wife and I each have opposite gendered friends who we hang out with alone often – neither of us gets jealous or anxious that we aren’t there.
I hope you find a way to be able to achieve the same balance. It’s tough, but clear communication makes a ton of difference.
